93-97: Savvy, hungry, lucky, worry, cats.

Whew! That’s a lot. But here we go:

The first book is one that I just picked up at the library because I liked the cover. When I flipped it over and read the back, I was pretty sure I would like it, so I gave it a chance. I finished it in one day and could not wait for the library to open the next day so I could go get the next one! I am always happy that I find out about these sort of books when both are out, instead of having to wait patiently for the next one to come out. I am good at patience, but not so much when it comes to books!

The second book is such a classic. I’ve read it so many times to children, but still never tire of it.

The third book is one that I bought at a Borders going out of business sale. Thought it must be good if it won the Newbery, and I wasn’t disappointed. I loved the simple story.

The fourth book is another book about Bear. I just love the illustrations of the first book and scooped this one up from the library too.

I’m sure I read the fifth book before, but maybe not. With a cat/children’s book lover for a mother, I’m not sure how I could have missed it. But it’s a fun one, and I love the black and white illustrations.

So, books 93-97 are:

Savvy by Ingrid Law
The very hungry caterpillar by Eric Carle
The higher power of lucky by Susan Patron, illustrations by Matt Phelan
Don’t worry Bear by Greg Foley
and
Millions of Cats by Wanda Gag.

Savvy

Caterpillars...are they lucky? Probably.

How could you not worry about millions of cats?

And the next post will round out February.
Get ready for:

Trying to find art
The day to day in the life of a spider
A tale about pigs
A new take on an old tale about a tailor
and something about dinosaurs and cleaning rooms.

See you soon!
Read and write on,
Kathy Ellen
